Design Approach

Design Approach

The principals of Simes & Rosch Engineering are personally involved with every aspect of a project, from assisting the customer with project definition, to establishing the design concepts and performing design analysis and calculations.  Our goal is to provide effective, constructible and sustainable designs which are fully compliant with all applicable codes, while keeping the customer’s first costs reasonable and within budget.

We understand the importance of maintaining a thorough working knowledge of all construction related codes and standards.  We are dedicated to keeping abreast with the latest revisions of NFPA, ASHRAE, IEEE, SMACNA, and ANSI Standards, DoD Unified Facilities Criteria, and all other relevant criteria that could affect your project.

Complete Detailed Contract Documents

We pride ourselves on delivering a detailed final design package based on thorough engineering analysis and clear communication of construction requirements to avoid costly change orders.  To this end, quality assurance plays a major role in the design process at Simes & Rosch.  All designs receive an “intra” and inter-discipline review.

Renovation plans are generated with separate demolition and new work plans, incorporating digitally imported photographs of existing conditions.  As-built plans and equipment configurations are confirmed by bringing laptop computers to the site and making adjustments directly on the digital drawings.  These as-built conditions are then used as an accurate starting ‘template’ for the integration of new work.  This level of presentation and accuracy on our construction contract documents assists in truly competitive bidding and minimizes problems during construction.

Schedule & Budget

The Simes & Rosch staff is committed to doing what it takes to meet deadlines and keep your projects on track.  We use proven scheduling techniques and thoughtful workload projections to ensure that each project’s deadlines are met.  We do not intentionally ‘overbook’ in an effort to maximize profits.  This has enabled us to have the flexibility to step up the pace for aggressive schedules.

Cost control, both during design and construction, is critical to project success.  System alternatives are chosen based on the customer’s budget.  Our historical change order rate is significantly less than one percent.

In Conclusion

Simes & Rosch is committed to ensuring your satisfaction.  We welcome the opportunity to serve your mechanical and electrical engineering needs, and are dedicated to earning your repeat business.
