Shipyards West Park is envisioned as a premier riverfront destination, offering a range of complimentary amenities that will connect Riverfront Plaza with Metropolitan Park. Simes & Rosch is proud to be working with WXY Architecture + Urban Design and Agency Landscape + Planning on this high-profile development that will transform Jacksonville’s Shipyard area. Adjacent to the USS Orleck and the Fire Museum, this $82 million park will feature an events pavilion, a riverwalk extension, an adaptable central event lawn, and a play area. Simes & Rosch has been coordinating with the architecture team, designing the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for the pavilion, as well as the park’s power distribution. Once completed, the park will invite visitors to experience nature, discover the city’s history, and pay tribute to its heroes—whether by sharing a meal with friends, fishing, kayaking, or simply enjoying views of the St. Johns River.
