The design of HVAC and plumbing systems for this new $36 million, 150,000 sf facility will support mission critical needs while achieving a LEED Gold rating.  EPAct analysis indicates the facility will achieve a 51% energy reduction over ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G baseline building model.  Energy savings initiatives include frictionless, magnetic bearing water cooled chillers, high efficiency condensing boilers, variable primary flow chilled water systems and solar water heating systems for domestic hot water. The electrical design for this important command and control facility included energy efficient lighting and electrical distribution systems, and infrastructure for state-of-the art CCTV, intrusion detection and access control security systems. The extensive telecommunications and audiovisual systems, which were designed for classified networks, include almost a million feet of horizontal cabling.
